Ubuntu is a linux distro that displays features that are not less with Windows.If you have ubuntu dekstop in your computer and want to update you can do this step.I will explain the steps by steps to perform the update on your Ubuntu:

1. Download Ubuntu your choice.

2. Run the installer. You can completely erase all your data, to set up dual boot system or even install Ubuntu just like you install any other software on Windows. Whatever you do do not forget to make backups of all your important files.

3.Installing Ubuntu Update

If you are using a 8:04 then you can update directly to 8.10.

4. "Backup your important files". Although an upgrade to keep your data and settings, but it's good to always perform at least backup your home directory. This includes copying the desired files to an external drive or server some place safe. If you plan to perform incremental backups in the future use something like rsync to help you.

5. Make sure your system up to date. This means that you must have applied all updates available for the current version of Ubuntu.

6. Read the Release Notes to find out if there are a few issues and workarounds to find out about this new release.

4. Upgrade by running the Update Manager.
